April`s Dog Adoption Event! in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Alot of pet owners look forward to this time of year to start looking for a 4 legged Best Friend to add to their family & Canine Safe Harbor has a Great variety of those 4 legged friends ready to be that Best Friend. Canine Safe Harbor dog rescue invites you to our Spring Adoption Event on April 13th from 2-4 p.m. We are located at xxxx W KL Ave. just 1 1/4 mi. west of the dog park on KL & 8th St. We will have orange & white signs in the area to follow. We also look forward to warmer days so we can hold our adoption outside where there is plenty of room to romp, walk & play with your "Dog of Choice". Our volunteers are anxious to introduce you to our dogs who are patiently waiting for their new homes! Dante..young..male..Akita mix is so striking a 2nd look is a must, but he is not just another pretty face! Dante has personality plus, along with his friendliness to all volunteers he also shows he can have fun running back and forth along the fence with dogs on the other side. Dante knows "sit", walks well on a leash, and will lean against you when next to you.  Dante is best described as "The Complete Canine." Schuster..young..male..Chihuahua mix with eyes that you are convinced are speaking to you. Schuster is proof that you don`t have to be big to be noticed. His beautiful white coat blankets a professional "Cuddle Bug" who`s middle name should be "Happy"! Schuster enjoyed a recent car ride without fuss or barks.  Sometimes we wonder why a dog like Schuster is in a shelter in the 1st place but we have no doubt that his new family is on their way! If you decide that raising a puppy is much like raising a child & are ready for a new addition to your family welcoming a more mature type, Karla is the perfect candidate! Karla is an adult..female..Black Labrador Retriever mix who has chewed her last shoe & woke up the entire house all night long needing to go outside.. long ago.  The 1 puppy trait Karla decided to keep is her LOVE for tennis balls. She not only brings every ball back over & over but adds a little of her own touch to the game by rolling over on her back with the ball in her mouth as she awaits her reward of a belly rub! Dash..baby..male..Jack Russell Terrier mix who is just beginning his life of wonder & adventure! Dash has lived up to his name by showing he can be fast as lightning when its time for exploring the world around him. This sweet boy would love a family with kids to play with, lots of playtime & toys, but  most of all a home to call his very own! Mikey..young..male..Chihuahua mix has alot to offer for such a small package. If you were to ask Mikey what his positive traits are he would bark out..I don`t think I`m interested in proving I can take on a big dog instead I`d rather be snuggling, cuddling and spending my time having lots of fun with a new family & I promise to be a good boy! He would also say..I better tell you now that I really really shiver & shake when I`m outside in the cold so a short stay outside in the winter with a nice fuzzy coat is best for me. All dogs have been spayed/neutered, heart worm tested & receiving monthly heart worm prevention year round & UTD on all routine shots. Our Adoption Events are held the 2nd Sat. of every month from 2-4 p.m. Come out and bring the family to meet and Love alot of great dogs & who knows...you might be glad you did!
