July Dog Adoption Event! in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Canine Safe Harbor invites you to join us Sat. July 13th from 2-4 p.m. for our monthly outdoor Dog Adoption Event! We are located at xxxx W KL Ave. just 1 1/4 mi. west of the Dog Park on KL & 8th St. We will have orange & white signs posted in the area to follow. We have a Fantastic variety of breeds, sizes & ages to choose from. Weather permitting this event will be held outside which includes outdoor pens to play in with your "Dog of Choice" along with a big yard and trails through the woods for walks with a dog accompanied by our friendly volunteers. Here are just a few dogs ready & waiting to meet you! Summer..adult..female..Terrier mix. This girl`s calm disposition is her "Trade Mark". She loves her daily walks & like all dogs loves human contact.  Summer will take whatever attention is given her & when "Attention Time" is over she is happy for the time she was given. Spirit..young..male..Chow Chow mix. This darling boy lives up to his name. He has a heart of Gold, a personality that is charming & the Will to survive in a world he cannot see. Due to inbreeding Spirit is blind. To what degree we aren`t sure but it doesn`t stop him from his daily walks & exploring the world his way! He responds to his name being called & is very approachable given a hand to smell 1st and some  words spoken to familiarize himself with a kind voice. When adopted, Spirit will require some specific`s in order to provide him with a safe new environment. We could all learn something from Spirit! Augustus..adult..male..Golden Retriever mix. This beautiful young man is a real sweet heart and has enough love to go around a big family 100 times! He loves to stay by your side while going for his daily walks & isn`t shy about his "singing ability" when he responds to your compliments. Augustus does have some separation anxiety issues which let`s us know that he would do best in a home where there is someone there most of the time. Frazier..young..male.. Dachshund mix. If Frazier wasn`t so wiggly when his door opens he just might be able to jump right into your arms! When this little guy came to Canine Safe Harbor he had a BB pellet lodged in his shoulder causing permanent nerve damage & giving Frazier a limp. He still enjoys short walks & is in NO pain & seems to like all of his canine neighbors. Frazier patiently waits for his forever home filled with lots of love and someone who wont mind getting so many kisses they can`t keep count! Bronson..baby..male..Weimaraner mix. Bronson  & his brother Brichette are the last 2 brothers from a litter of 7 males waiting for their new home. Bronson is very eager, smart & has alot of great qualities & all he  needs now is a home where he can learn home living and be a part of an active family life! Cally..baby..female..Terrier mix. This little girl is amazing for her young age. Once the excitement and wiggles stop, she walks on a leash like an adult with no yanking & chewing as you would expect from a dog her young age. Her gorgeous brindle coat will surely turn a few heads. When taken for a "home visit" Cally played with Mr. Elephant which she brought back every single time it was tossed & laid at the volunteers feet! She also has a funny side to her personality sitting in the laundry basket in the back seat of the car then going to the front passenger floor for the rest of the ride looking up and smiling! Mufasa..young..male.. Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen mix. Mufasa is a happy go lucky, friendly young man with enough energy to keep himself & his new family members busy with some outdoor activities. Mufasa is attentive & makes great eye contact when asked to sit which are good when any training may be necessary. Newton..young..male..Pomeranian. This darling boy could win 1st prize for his "Fox look a like" new look. This Pom will literally stand at your feet and hop on his hind feet waiting to be picked up. Once in your arms Newton takes great pride in positioning himself perfectly so his face is attached to yours waiting to give you kisses. Newton is a quiet Pom & likes other dogs & every human around. What a perfect companion he will make! Mark your calender for this Sat. July 13th from 2-4 p.m. & bring the family  to Canine Safe Harbor`s beautiful facility for some fun with our dogs!
